It is a great way to determine if you would like scuba. I looked at Pedro's but if I was to go back again I would pick the Tides again. The price was fine, the location could not have been better and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They have the best bartender in San Pedro, Butch, and Patojo runs a first class dive operation if you want to save a few dollars. Yeah, I first started getting into the sport due to snorkeling. We stayed at Pedro's Inn which about 5 minutes walk in land. This was actually a hostel but they had very nice hotel accommodations as well. We couldn't afford to go scuba diving but instead went snorkeling. I will say snorkeling is great too if that is all you can afford.
