Thanks to some scholar we have these awesome stats.

Grambo kills again and better

Kind of makes you wonder how much of a threat there is to our national security when a head of a University study group on national security had the time to compile this.

I like to imagine George out on a cocaine binge screwing Saddam and Ossama from behind.

How time flies

I get busy at work and I don’t even realize but I am neglecting to post anything here for weeks at a time. I hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Year holiday season and that you were able to survive the onslaught of your families with no permanent damage. Our holiday was very busy since both if us only got off the days of Christmas and New Years day. Next year we are taking more time and want to take us a bit of vacation then which will ensure we are family free (always a bonus).

Now that the new new year is here and the holidays are over it is time to start training for the next big event. I think that event for me is going to be another 1/2 marathon in March and then the 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge (100 miles) in Early May. I may opt out of the 100 miles and do the 65 miles that only requires a ride over 1 mountain but we shall see.

In addition to these 2 events I will be running 3-4 times a week until the 1/2 marathon in March. This should be plenty of time to train for this. Wish me luck.

I am legend

Well I had very high expectations for this movie and I was a bit let down. It could have been a really excellent film but instead it was only an OK film. Oh well, I guess you can’t win them all especially when Hollywood marketing is largely responsible for all the hype.

Falling off the wagon

Posted in Running on December 11th, 2007 by drewcifer

I was doing so well for a few weeks training very hard to get back up to a 10K distance and then my job duties were changed to make me more of a manager/supervisor and I have lost all motivation after work to come home and run. In fact I have been more likely to be found running down a beer at JJs Bohemia than running off come calories. I really need to change this behavior and get back in the swing of things both within this blog and out of the streets. I guess this sort of stuff happens during the holidays. I will let you know how it goes.

The weather has also been shocking the past few days reaching up into the 70’s. This is typical of Chattanooga winter where it gets warm for a week and the trees and flowers get confused and start to bloom then we have a bitter freeze to kill them or weaken them opening them up to infection and eventually killing them. We are killing ourselves through global warming we are just to stupid to see it. Well some of us are.

Cool down

If you actually do pay attention to this blog you will notice that my posting has slacked off for awhile. The grip of summer heat has finally let go and cool fall temperatures have settled in. I have been real busy with work and not wanting to touch the computer after I get home when I do most of my posts here so they have not been happening.

So what have I been up to? The cooler weather has encouraged me to start running again a few times a week. I have worked back up to 3.5-4 miles at a reasonable pace (for me) and hope to be up to 6 soon. I don’t currently have any events lined up that I am training for but I have been considering the Families on the Run 10K that falls around my birthday and the 5K Grateful Gobbler that happens the morning of Thanksgiving. If anybody wants to have a good time before you stuff yourself to the gills with Turkey you should come and participate in the Grateful Gobbler.

I need to be unemployed for a few months.

Sequatchie Valley Century

I had a great time this weekend riding the SVC metric century. I was a bit spent after the event but I recovered by late afternoon due to a nice long nap. Hope to see all of you on the road again soon and if not soon at the 3 State 3 Mountain challenge in May.

Thanks John and Zach at JJ’s

Recently my friend lost a ring down the drain of a local establishment while on a binge. This is a ring he got when his second child was born. He thought he remembered where he lost it and I spoke with the owner about it he gave me the go ahead to take the panel off where the sinks are and check the drain traps. On Saturday evening we both went down there and with help of Zach the bartender we were able to get to the sinks without any major deconstruction and found the ring in the trap of the second sink we checked. Thanks John and Jenny for being great people and letting us check for the rings and thanks Zach for helping us out. You have the best club in town.
